Coffee filter crafts offer so much fun. Today, we’re looking into how we can use these understated utensils to make pretty little snowflakes!
This project will help brighten any room with a pop of color during the cold, snowy months. It’s also a great way to break up the time spent at home during the cold winter months. Keep reading for instructions on how to create your own coffee filter snowflakes!
Materials Needed:
- Coffee Filter
- Washable Markers
- Eye Dropper
- 1 Cup Water
Step 1: Flatten your coffee filter on a hard surface.
Step 2: Create a colorful pattern using your markers. Remember, the less white space is left, the more vibrant your snowflake will appear.
Step 3: Add a few droplets of water to the coffee filter using your eyedropper. Spread it around to wet the entire surface, but don’t go overboard. The wetter it gets, the longer it will take to dry.
Step 4: Let dry overnight. You can also dry them in the oven using low heat.
Step 5: Fold the coffee filter in half. Fold again, about 1/3 of the way over. Fold again so that all the edges are lined up. Fold once more to create a triangle.
Step 6: Begin cutting pieces out of the folded coffee filter. Don’t be afraid to get creative here. You can cut out half hearts, circles, diamonds, and more. The more elaborate your design, the more unique your snowflake will be.
Step 7: Unfold, and enjoy your creation! You can showcase your art by hanging it from the ceiling using a paperclip and some string. Or, you can tape it to the window!
