Yum! This homemade treat makes us clap our paws! Creative living expert Lynn Lilly introduced us to an amazing fruity roll up snack. It is so easy and yummy to make, you’ll be clapping your paws for joy in no time! Brinley the Bear especially loves this snack because it has her two favorite ingredients- honey and fruit- that’s it!
Remember, it’s especially important to eat right during this time of the year. Going back to school means the kids will be expected to work hard and remain focused all day long. Studies have shown that brain foods can help students achieve these goals, and more. Strawberries even contain antioxidants that help improve memory and cognition!
Check out the recipe below to begin.
Supplies:
- Measuring Spoon
- Scissors
- Spoon
- Blender
- Parchment Paper
- Cookie Sheet
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Strawberries
- 1 Cup Blueberries
- 3 Tablespoons Honey
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours
Cool Time: 1 hour
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Mix 1 ½ tablespoon of honey and 1 cup of strawberries into the blender. Blend until smooth. See how Lynn Lilly gets started below.
Step 2: Pour mixture on parchment paper. Smooth with the spoon into an even thin layer.
Step 3: Bake in the oven for 2 hours. Cool for 1 hour before consuming. Repeat the same steps but with blueberries instead of strawberries.
Step 4: Carefully cut the hardened and cooled fruit into strips on the parchment paper.
Step 5: Roll neatly and enjoy!
Step 6: If you plan on saving fruit roll ups for later, secure with tape and store in an air-tight container.
